Caring for families with language barriers, social vulnerabilities, and cultural differences poses unique ethical challenges. Quality cross-cultural training requires providers to critically self-reflect on their own cultural lenses, the roles they play within the power structures of society, and the impacts of their interactions with patients and families. This module provides learners with both a theoretical framework for understanding ethical issues surrounding immigrant and refugee healthcare as well as a case-based format to discuss the complexities of caring for immigrant and refugee families.
